Day 1: Arrival in Steyr and check-in in the booked hotel. In the evening, two nightwatch men/women in traditional clothing carrying their lantern and halberd will conduct you through the medieval Romantic Town of Steyr telling you the tales and legends of long ago day. A climb to the top of the parish church spire will boast you a breathtaking view of the old town of Steyr.
Day 2: After breakfast you visit the famous abbey of Kremsmünster. During a guided tour through the abbey you get to know for example the Monastery collections, the Imperial Hall, the treasure chamber with the famous chalice of Duke Tassilo, the portrait gallery, the fish ponds and the library of the abbey.
In the afternoon you go to visit the monastery of Schlierbach. After watching its stained glass factory and the "Schaukäserei", which is the cheese factory of the monastery, you get a little cheese tasting.
Day 3: After breakfast you follow the Enns river through the idyllic surroundings of the Kalkalpen national park to visit the Benedictine abbey of Admont. Here you visit the largest monastery library with its magnificent Baroque hall and the new museum.
In the afternoon you enter the Steyrtal valley to get to know the tradition of maing the Jew's harp in Molln. After arriving you visit the family Wimmer, who will demonstrate how Jew's harps are bent according to old artisan tradition.
Day 4: Departure. On the way home you have the possibility to visit the Augustine Monastery St. Florian with its famous "Bruckner-organ"
