Steyr Christkindl

In the Christkindl town of Steyr, the Christkindl was brought to life for the first time last year. On weekdays during the Advent season the Christkindl welcomes Steyr's guests, recites the Christkindl prologue and entertains the children with fairy tales.

The design, style and silver metal thread embroidery of the Christkindl's lavish costume is modelled on the baroque Lambert nativity scene figurine of the Annunciation angel. The master seamstress Waltraud Musenbichler made the costume from 196.5 metres of material and laces adorning it with an additional 540 coloured crystal Swarovski stones.
