LINZ, soon to be LINZ 2009 The European capital of culture 2009 is heralded in with numerous attractions. You are sure to enjoy an unforgettable visit to this “Danube metropolis”. Located between the Pöstlingberg and alpine foothills, a highly independent town that in no way fits the typical Austrian cliché awaits you. Works by the famous painter Oskar Kokoschka will be exhibited in the Lentos art museum from May until September www.lentos.at, whereas the Schlossmuseum and the Landesgalerie present exhibitions on regional themes www.landesmuseen.at. The town can be easily explored during a round trip on the Linz City Express or by joining a guided town walk at 11:00 am from May to October, starting at the “Alte Rathaus”.The Linzer City guarantees a unique shopping experience where you can browse among world-famous brands as well as in numerous inviting small boutiques.
