Year after year, the magnificent ambience of Lamberg Castle lures national as well as international opera stars to Steyr to lend their voices to the major parts. In 2008 the Japanese sopranist Aiko Nakajima will play the young geisha Cho-Cho-San and the American Roy Smith the naval officer Pinkerton in the Opera Open-Air production "Madama Butterfly".

The successful director Susanne Sommer will again return to Steyr in 2008 to surprise and thrill her audience with a new, spectacular and fascinating production of Puccini's opera "Madama Butterfly".
